Under the divine direction of the Holy Spirit and the detailed instructions of God, Christian Outreach Center opened its doors in 1984. The first church location was in the UCAP Center in Capitol Heights, Maryland. The first official service took place on the 2 Sunday in July, 1984. God has moved in tremendous ways since that first service. In 1985, the church relocated briefly to St. James Church of Deliverance, 4900 Blaine Street, N.E., Washington, DC where space was shared with Pastor David and Joyce Fields.

In 1986, after many great fellowships on Blaine Street, God moved the ministry to 827 Kennedy Street, N.W., Washington, DC. God moved in a miraculous way in the midst of Pastor Carr and the other members. God soon sent in faithful member, Bro. Marty Colbert, who was diligent in driving around the city picking up those who desired to come and worship. Ministers Robert and Janice Turner were also sent to work in the ministry. They were faithful workers and on Saturdays would travel from Woodbridge, Virginia to teach Bible class. Many souls were touched by the anointed teachings of the Turners. Later, God called Min. Robert Turner to pastoral service and he obeyed God’s call to pastor in Alabama. The Turners moved to Florence, Alabama and New Birth Ministries was founded. Elder John Price was also led of the Lord to work with the Christian Outreach ministry and he soon found himself on Kennedy Street. After working diligently, he too was called and embarked into ministry in Asheboro, North Carolina and began A Wealthy Place Ministries. Another ministry that came out of Christian Outreach is Prophetess Joyce Moten’s Greater Horizons in Faith Ministries.

While on Kennedy Street, a 24-hour storehouse was established and God blessed as many came forth to donate while the people of the community came and had their needs met. Christian Outreach has always and will continue to meet the needs of the whole man: body, mind, soul and spirit. Many souls came to the ministry and God blessed them to go higher. In 1989, God opened a door and the church moved to the annex of Greater New Zion F.B.H. located at 5005 78 Avenue, West Lanham Hills, Maryland under the auspices under Pastor Sadie Mason. The church continued to grow and God sent faithful and loyal members to support the vision that had been given to Pastor Carr. The move of God was miraculous; many souls were saved, delivered and set free.

In October 1996, the church settled at its current location, 3709 Hamilton Street, Hyattsville, Maryland. God has taken this church to higher heights and deeper depths ever since settling into its new home of worship. Christian Outreach is a ministry reaching out to people in need all over the world. This ministry has served as a sponsor for a number of shelters for needy and displaced people. The food and clothing ministry has served hundreds of families and individuals in the Washington Metropolitan Area.

Christian Outreach is not limited to the boundaries of the USA, but is instrumental in supporting various countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, Kenya, India and many others with prayer, Bibles, clothing, and offerings. It was here that two more ministries were birthed: New Jerusalem Ministries, in Richmond, VA, founded in 2002, by Apostle Vincent R. Price and Faith Action Deliverance Ministries, in Lanham, MD, founded, in 2008, by Pastor Mary Price.

This ministry continues to be led by the divine order of the Holy Spirit. We remain committed to reaching out in various capacities with our compassion ministry, employment assistance, food pantry and clothing provision and any other way that our assistance is needed. Our prayer here at Christian Outreach is that we can continue to help support efforts that will make life better for people everywhere, spiritually and physically. We have come this far by faith; the ministry was founded by faith and we continue to operate by faith. May God continually bless you.
